The Green Lane Diary draws from the National Curriculum and Sustainability Curriculum Framework, and is produced to complement the Australian Curriculum general capabilities and fulfil cross-curriculum priorities.

The diary is not a prescriptive program and is most effective when used in a cross disciplinary manner in conjunction with a range of learning experiences in your classroom. The program is delivered in Term 3 each year and is aligned with the ten-week school curriculum.

The diary can be used by teachers to achieve outcomes set out in State and Territory frameworks.

The Australian Curriculum pays explicit attention to how seven general capabilities  and three cross curriculum priorities  contribute to, and can be developed through, teaching in each learning area.
The seven general capabilities are:

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Information  and  communication  technology   competence
  • Critical  and  creative  thinking
  • Ethical  behaviour
  • Personal  and  social  competence
  • Intercultural  understanding.

The  three  cross-curriculum  priorities  are:

  • Sustainability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures
  • Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia.

You too can get involved...
